How's your hair holding up for this winter?

I know all of my friends in the mid-west and north-east are completely over this cold weather and the abundance of snow they had over the last few months. Even in other regions of the country the winter had it's effect. Our skin and hair is thirsty, it's begging for moisture and protection... so make sure you do moisturize and protect. Here are some simple things that will get your hair through this winter and other winters to come.

1. Use a moisturizing shampoo.

2. Use a deep conditioner that leaves your hair soft & full of elasticity. Don't forget your leave-in conditioner - I like Redken Smooth Down Detangling Cream. It detangles, moisturizes and helps with frizz.

3. Use a light moisturizer daily or at least 2-3 times a week. Of course you would know how much your hair needs.

4. Be weary of hats, scarves & turtlenecks that are made of wool. They can cause hair to get caught in it & cause breakage. Try using silk instead.

5. Avoid hair styles that leave your hair in the open, flying freely. Instead, try putting into a bun or pony tail, and tuck in the ends.

6. Air dry or roller set your hair. Really try to stay away from blow dryers. The air is already really dry during this time of year and our hair really needs as much moisture as possible.

Until next time
